Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 – First look!!

Yes a while ago i did mention that, there was going to be a New release of the ever popular Ubuntu Operating System(s). Well Some things have changed, and yes the first changes i will show you are of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx.

Some other major changes are:

A new logo – (Ubuntu)

New Colour Scheme – (Background)

New Boot Up Screen

I have no idea why they are Changing the already popular brown/orange looking background to a Purple/pink background. But perhaps this is to de-stress the user? When they turn on the machine. Well who knows? or Perhaps people have said “We want change” Well i certainly do hope More people will use this Brilliant, Secure and Safe operating System.

Ok Folks, so here is what you have been waiting for!!! What Ubuntu 10.04 looks like!!!

Looks good doesn’t it? Well i think it will be a hit, and attract more people who wish to Migrate from Windows, to a more Secure and Safe O/S (Operating System)

Sony’s Little Bug

The millennium bug 10 years since the year 2000, well yes that’s right 10 Years after the Year 2000 and The Playstation 3 has appeared to have stopped working. Well in this case, only on a lot of the Older model Playstation 3 has this been a problem with the Clock being wrong and getting stuck on the 1st of March 2010

Don’t worry………………………..If you have a Newer Playstation 3. This should not affect you.

If you do have a Playstation 3 that’s been hit by the Bug. then i would ring Sony.

Swearing

I’am going to Swear now and say something along the lines of Internet Explorer 8. Yes you might not think that is Swearing. But to a lot of people it is.

As i would hope most people out there are using Firefox, Opera and Netscape. Ok so yes Internet Explorer was released last year. But why oh why should there be TV adverts now telling us all about how great Internet Explorer is, and telling us all how great its Enhanced Security Features are and How it is completely safe, easy to use and how it gets rid of all that “Private Information” that it Usually Stores.

Well my belief is that Microsoft are wanting to Hypnotize you people out there into thinking Internet Explorer is the best thing since sliced bread.

So there is one thing i have to say

Stick to Firefox, Opera and/or Netscape……………In no particular order.

Server’s

Servers are quite intresting aren’t they. Well to some people they might be a bit boring but to others Servers can be quite intresting.

Ok so i have just bought for example a Dell Server but i’am wondering What server edition to put on my Dell Server. Well here are Some Suggestions.

Windows Server Edition 2008:

Good Sides – (Ease of Use, Layout is the same as the Standard Microsoft Operating Systems)

Bad Sides – (Slow, Not Secure, Hogs everything, Horrible Layout)

Ubuntu Server Edition 9.10:

Good Sides – (Easy to use, Free and Open Source Software, Secure, Does not Hog like Windows Server Edition)

Bad Sides – (Not everyone knows how to use Ubuntu Server Edition, Windows Users might not like the Layout)

Mac OS X Server Snow Leopard:

Good Sides – (Easey to use, Secure, Layout is easy to navigate, Looks Good)

Bad Sides – (Not Many are used)

Ok so just three possible Server systems for you to look at or try. So have a change from that Boring Horribly Slow Windows Server and go for something with a little bit more………………………..

Lucid Lynx 10.04

What on earth is that i hear you all saying, well what is “Lucid Lynx 10.04” well i shall now tell you.

Lucid Lynx 10.04 will be the new operating System for Xubuntu Ubuntu and Kubuntu.

The Releases will be in April of this year yes April 2010.

So you might want to try 10.04 Lucid Lynx well here is just one place that you can try Lucid Lynx 10.04

It isn’t Ubuntu instead its Kubuntu

Windows Phone 7

Ok so mobile phones these days will have at least One operating System and yes that might be on of these (Google Android or Apple, Unix/Linux Based) But what about Windows? Well yes there have been Mobile Phones belive it or not that have had a Windows Operating System. However with time people might have forgotten Windows Mobile Operating Systems that might be until now. When what are or have Microsoft announced but yes

(Windows 7 Phone)

Why i hear you saying, Surley this will just plumet like all the other phones that have had a Windows Mobile Operating System? Well yes it might. But i do think for the Mobile Phone Market Windows are doing a very good thing, i mean for starters the release of Windows Phone 7 will rival Apple in a big way

And for all those Windows 7 users out there the Phone shouldn’t be to tricky to operate, Why? as Windows Phone 7 is a cut down Mobile version of Windows 7.

So we will just have to wait and see what Windows Phone 7 is going to be like. I say Apple……………………Looks like you have a run for your Money on the Smartphone Market.

Smarties

Ok so maybye not an appropriate title just to have the word “Smarties” but i want to or would like to talk to you about (Smartphones)

So ok there are a whole lot of Smartphones out there for people, but of course the one that everyone uses is the iPhone, with it’s millions of Apps and the ability to download music on the go through the ever popular iTunes. But should you get an iPhone and yes, there are other Smartphones out there that could rival apples ever popular iPhone but the question is, are they any good.

Well Yes some of them are good and others are not so good.

So what good Smartphone should i get? well here are a few suggestions for you.

1. The HTC Hero

2. Google Nexus – The Google designed phone with Googles android operating system

3. The Palm Pre

4. The Blackberry

Ok so yes some of the Smartphones might not be touch screen, and some of them are, But remember there are other Smartphones other than the iPhone and in there own unique ways beat the iPhone in some userbility catorgries.

Software4students

Many people know that buying Software for your PC can be expensive. Or is it really that expensive? well think again……… As there is a website http://www.software4students.com – (America) or http://www.software4students.co.uk – (United Kingdom) could save you a load of cash.

Are phones Smart?

Ok so over the last 2 years or so the Smart Phone market has been dominated by the Iphone. But are there any other Smart Phones that could replace or possibly take over the Reigns of the humble Iphone that we all love and adore.

Well yes/no Yes there are Smart Phones out there that could possibly take the reign from the Iphone however though i belive that the worl of Smart Phones has still got to go along way until they reach Iphone status.

So Stick with the Iphone for the time being is what i say.

What happened PSP…………..Where did it all go wrong?

Ok so there have been 4 versions of the PSP these are……….

1. PSP – 1000

2. PSP – 2000

3. PSP – 3000

4. PSP Go

So there you have it, the list of Hand held Consoles from Sony. Now what has gone wrong with the PSP. Ok before the PSP Go there have been 3 popular models of the PSP and yes i do still see people who walk about in my College with the PSP – 3000. So why not the PSP Go? Well in my opinion It has not been welcomed by people of the previous PSP versions or should i say models that would and could only run games that where bought on UMD format. I believe what Sony have done is Ignore there fan base and  pressed ahead with a new format far to quickly without giving there customers/fans a say in what the PSP Consoles should look like, feel like, what they are like for gaming.

So maybe that’s the logical explanation for a lack of people walking around with or holding a PSP Go.
